Electrical Engineer

Kickr Design is seeking a talented, driven, and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate has a passion for new product development, is capable of juggling multiple projects at one time while maintaining excellent organization, and can demonstrate an ability to quickly and creatively solve problems. The position also requires an individual that owns his/her projects, works well in teams and interacts with clients.

This role will focus on contributing to our new product development projects, consumer products, medical projects, as well as our industrial equipment design/automation projects. In depth knowledge of the new product development process is key to this role along with the ability to advise our customers on efficient and effective approaches.

Requirements

Experience & Education

• High EQ and strong situational awareness
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering
• 5+ years of electrical engineering experience
• Excellent communication skills developed through experience working directly with clients and engineering teams 

Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in Altium
• In depth knowledge and experience with Electrical product design  
  • System-Level design: integration of hardware with software and mechanical components, understanding of mechatronics and system interfacing and electronics architecture 
• PCB design (schematic, component selection, layout) prototyping, and debugging 
• Experience with analog and digital design  
• signal integrity analysis 
• Power Management: battery integration and charging circuits, DC/DC converters and power supply design, low-power system optimization 
• Sensors and actuators: Integration and calibration of sensors (e.g., temperature, pressure, motion), motor drivers and actuator control 
• Testing and Validation: developing test plans and protocols, proficiency with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, multimeters) and debugging complex hardware and firmware issues 
• Knowledge about electronics manufacturing 
• Electrical aptitude and knowledge of best practices and techniques 
• Regulatory knowledge such as FCC and UL.  IEC 60601, ISO 13485 are a plus

Project Responsibilities

• Strong creative problem solving and innovative solutions tailored to client needs
• Ability to deeply understand client/user needs and propose efficient and effective solutions to help solve them
• Document and communicate progress with team and customers, maintain project schedules and timelines
• Develop positive working relationships with vendors and clients
• Prioritizing and managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
• Medical device development experience and knowledge of FDA regulatory requirements and ISO 13485 is a plus

Compensation

• $100,000 – $140,000, commensurate with experience
