Kickr relocated to a new Cumberland office in Summer 2025, giving the team more space and access to expanded resources. From a new coffee stand and the addition of Kickr Labs to installing new equipment, including injection molding, CNC machines, new 3D printers, and fabric and vinyl printing, we’re already doing more every day. Take a tour of the new Kickr office space with us and get excited about the fresh vibes, expanded capabilities, and all the possibilities ahead.
How does the new office better support client meetings or collaboration?
There is almost no comparison to our old office in terms of comfort and collaboration for customer meetings. Our conference rooms are plush, and we have close access to the shop for reviewing prototypes with plenty of snacks to go around.
From a customer collaboration standpoint, we now have the space to comfortably work with our customers and easily get into the messy middle of every project.
We recently had a customer spend the day on-site, learning the casting and molding process. One of our experts (Lee) spent a full day with the customer, building molds and casting his product right before his eyes.
The customer worked right alongside Lee so he could learn everything he needed to take those skills back home and continue the work himself! That’s the kind of experience we want to replicate for other clients.
What new features or spaces are employees most excited about?
Kickr Labs, our Hardware Accelerator space, has garnered a lot of excitement for the team. It has the potential to bring in some really great energy.
Our engineers are already bubbling with ideas. Combine that with another 20-30 entrepreneurs sharing the same space as Kickr, and the possibilities are endless. It’s going to be magical!
How will this new location support Kickr’s growth and innovation goals?
We’ve already begun building out and significantly expanding our capability. We have added in-house injection molding, additional CNC machining, several new 3D printers, and fabric and vinyl printing.
We’re working on new cleanroom spaces for medical device development and V&V testing. Our EE lab also received a significant expansion, with more workspace and equipment, as did our soft-goods development area.
Beyond that, the overall space is more comfortable and inviting, and we were able to get the whole team into one large space to enhance collaboration, compared to our former, disjointed space.
What’s one thing that makes this new office uniquely “Kickr”?
Kickr is unique in a few areas, and this new space drives that home in several ways.
- We are a design firm with an engineering focus: We can build what we design.
- We deliver on functionality AND design: Unlike a machine shop that can only manufacture, or a traditional design house that will give you a great-looking but non-functional prototype, we can help clients from concept to pilot production, ALL in-house.
- We’re an entirely in-house team: Our engineers are here, our prototyping facility is here, and our pilot production facility is here.
- We can move at lightning speed: With everything all in one place, hardware innovation has never been faster.
How does the new office reflect Kickr’s brand values and collaborative culture?
It’s created a space where our engineering, design, and project management teams can be comfortable and interface more effectively. No more silo’s now that we have the whole team together.
This has helped build a more collaborative culture across the board, which carries over into the customer experience. It enables us to be more responsive and remain dynamic and innovative at the drop of a hat.
Must-See Spots At Kickr
- Coffee Box Coffee Stand: This is definitely the most popular spot at the new office. You’ll often see the Kickr Engineers lining up for drinks, and it has quickly become the new “water cooler,” the spot for outside lunch dates, and the Friday night post-work happy hour spot.
- Our WIP (Work-in-progress) Space: When engineers stay late, they often gather in the back of the WIP room to collaborate and brainstorm.
- Kickr Labs: The only hardware-focused accelerator in the southeast that provides entrepreneurs with the hardware-focused resources to bridge the gap between concept and prototype.
- Clean Rooms: Supports critical components of your FDA submission and ensures we meet safety, quality, and compliance requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
